THERAPISTS

Kairos Counseling Services Affiliates

Our group is a network of affiliated providers. Kairos therapists set their own fees, are not financially accountable to each other, and are not employees of Kairos or one another. Each therapist at Kairos is an independent practitioner, and solely responsible for his or her psychotherapy practice.

As a professional member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, I believe Family Systems Theory provides a comprehensive approach to one’s healing journey. I trained as a drug and alcohol counselor, and hold certificates in Coaching for Clergy and the Prepare/Enrich Assessment for pre-marital counseling. For the past 20 years I served as a chaplain in a level-1 trauma center, and as a pastor for the past 12. With a focus on family of origin exploration, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, I promote developmental growth in individuals, couples and families in areas of communication, conflict resolution, relational skills, and recovery from trauma. Most availability Mon, and Wed-(Telehealth). Pursuing PA licensure.

Christine Shaw, MA, LPC

I help couples and individuals (16+) who are navigating grief, relationships, trauma recovery, personal development, and new directions. Many of my clients are addressing personal or family conflict, stressful communication or sexual matters, career adjustments, faith-related areas, or other challenges impeding the life they envision. From a systemic lens, I take a psychodynamic, experiential, and somatically-oriented approach to therapy. I have trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment focused EMDR, IFS, sandtray, and addiction-related family intervention. With both professional and biblical counseling studies, as well as cross-cultural experience, I bring sensitivity to complex issues and dynamics. With engaged couples, or those who are considering marriage, I use the Prepare-Enrich assessment; and for those exploring a career change, I utilize exercises to support self-discovery, work toward a good fit, and address barriers to success.
